Brooke Faerber was crowned Miss Troy Rodeo Queen on Aug. 26 at the rodeo held at the Lincoln County Fairgrounds. She was one of six girls competing in her division.
She is the 17 year-old daughter of Bill & Roberta Faerber of Troy. She is currently a senior at Troy Buchanan High, and has been an active member in FFA.
Among the criteria for the pageant were giving a speech, answering an impromptu question, an interview with the judges and a written examination. “I have shown horses since age nine and have ridden them all my life,” Faerber said. “I have two colts trained for barrel racing during rodeo competition.”
As queen, she will represent local rodeo groups in parades and clinics throughout Missouri. “I got interested in the queen contest through my friend, Dani Williams, who was selected as queen last year,” she added.
She has received multiple scholarships and has a passion for riding, training and showing horses which has developed a love for the sport of rodeo. When she graduates she plans on going to college for a degree in animal science and specialize in animal nutrition.
