PB&T President David Thompson presents Dan Anderson of the Bread for Life Food Pantry with the cash and food donations.

Peoples Bank & Trust Co. hosted their first Community Shred Day on Saturday, April 20, at the Main Bank location in Troy. This event provided community members with a safe and secure resource to shred their confidential personal and business documents. In exchange for shredding the documents, Peoples Bank requested a donation be made to the Bread for Life Food Pantry.

At the end of the three-hour event, 2,100 pounds of paper had been shredded and Peoples Bank raised over $200 in cash donations to Bread for Life Food Pantry along with a truck bed full of food donations.

“We are excited to be able to help the community in two ways,” said David Thompson, President of Peoples Bank. “By giving people a safe and secure way to dispose of their personal documents, we help lower the risk of identity theft. At the same time, we’re able to help stock the shelves for the Bread for Life Food Pantry and fulfill another need of the local community.”

Peoples Bank & Trust Co. is an independently owned, full service community bank that has made a commitment to provide financial products and services to the area as well as be an active member of the local community by taking a vested interest in what matters to those that live here.
