Many members of Pike-Lincoln Technical Center’s student organizations, FBLA and Skills USA, had the grand opportunity to participate in the annual CTSO Legislative Day on Wednesday, February 14, 2018. The event was held at the State Capitol in Jefferson City, MO. Students had a chance to meet and converse with State Representative Jim Hansen, and State Senator Brian Munzlinger. Senator Munzlinger offered them a rare opportunity to go inside of the Senate Chambers to discuss different issues about Career and Technical Education, student organizations and agricultural issues pertaining the future. After speaking with Senator Munzlinger, students met up with State Representative Hansen and discussed the importance of Career and Technical Education as well as the many steps it takes for a bill to become a law. Overall, the students had a wonderful experience in the Capitol and obtained many new skills that will benefit them for the future.
