Price qualifies for USA team to compete in the IAAF world games

Southern Illinois-Carbondale alums Gwen Berry and DeAnna Price earned spots on Team USA for August’s International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) World Championships in London, England with their finishes in the women’s hammer throw held June 25 in Sacramento, Calif.
Berry won her first outdoor national title with a toss of 245’-3” (74.77m). Price’s best mark also came on her second attempt at 243’-0” (74.06m). The two-time NCAA Champion was in second place until final attempts, when she dropped to third-place.
Price is from Moscow Mills and is a graduate of Troy Buchanan High. Last summer, she completed in the Summer Olympics in Brazil where she placed eighth.
Currently, she is a graduate student at SIU-Carbondale pursuing a master’s in accounting.
The 2017 IAAF World Championships begin.
She has continued to compete and train for a possible bid for another Olympics in 2020.
She is the daughter of Dan and Ann Price, of Moscow Mills
