With the beautiful weather over the weekend came record crowds at the 49th Annual Old Threshers weekend of history and fun.
Even the two-hour power outage on Saturday night didn’t dampen the spirits of many as they waited around for the Missouri Farm Pullers to finish out the show. Once again starting the event on Thursday evening proved to be a positive, as a large crowd enjoyed the kick-off event, an Out of the Field Farm Tractor Pull.
Over the four days, camping was sold out, vendors were busy, the old-fashioned steam-driven Merry Go Round never stopped, and food stands sold out. The LCOTA board members estimate there we approximately 4100 people that visited for this year’s event.
Volunteers work countless hours to get the grounds and facilities ready for all to enjoy. Plans have already begun on how and what to improve on for the big 50th celebration next year.
