Graveside services for Richard Gene Kingrey, 85, of Foley, will be held at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at Ozark Memorial Park in Joplin.
Mr. Kingrey, 85, passed away late Tuesday afternoon, June 4, 2013, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Peters.
Born Aug. 19, 1927, in Joplin, he was the son of Fred Ray and Agnes Marie Stewart Kingrey. He served his country in the United States Army Air Force from Dec. 14, 1945 until being honorably discharged on July 2, 1947. He was united in marriage on Feb. 27, 1950 in Joplin to Dolores Marie Warren. This union was blessed with three children: Richard, Linda and Kevin.
He worked as a city mail courier for the U.S. Postal Service, retiring in August 1987 after 27 years. He was a member of the National Association of Letter Carriers, American Legion Post #13, Joplin, and a 20 year member of the National Association of Retired Federal Workers. He was a member of Corinth Christian Church.
Survivors include two sons: Richard Kingrey and his wife, Tina, of Poteau, Okla. and Kevin Kingrey and his wife, Sheila, of Foley; one daughter, Linda Kingrey of Thornton, Colo.; six grandchildren; one step-grandchild; three great-grandchildren and one step great-grandchild. He also leaves one brother Kenneth Kingrey and his wife, Pat, Joplin; one sister, Lois M. Jones of Joplin; two sisters-in-law: Betty Kingrey and Doris Kingrey, both of Joplin; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
