Funeral services for Sarah June DeGeare, 75, of Foley, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 15, 2014, at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry. Rev. Allen Calkins, pastor of First Baptist Church in Gray Summit, will officiate with burial in Star Hope Cemetery near Elsberry.
Mrs. DeGeare, 75, passed away early Friday morning, April 11, 2014, at St. Joseph Hospital West in Lake Saint Louis.
Born Jan. 7, 1939, in Graves, KY, she was the daughter of Hilliard Martin and Virginia Idell Riddle Roberts. After high school she went on to LPN School. She was united in marriage on June 30, 1984, in Elsberry to Bobby Harold DeGeare. Their home was blessed with six children: Paul, Vicki, Sherry, Bobby, Kim and Tammy.
She was a housewife. Mrs. DeGeare was a member of Star Hope Baptist Church.
Survivors include her beloved husband of nearly 30 years, Bobby DeGeare, of Foley; two sons, Paul Bishop and his wife, Donna, of Troy and Bobby DeGeare and his wife, Diane, of Elsberry; two daughters, Vicki Green and her husband, Greg, of Moscow Mills and Kim Price and her husband, Ricky, of Old Monroe; eleven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She also leaves one sister, Hilda Loos of Pacific; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held from 4 – 8 p.m. Monday, April 14, 2014 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry.

Ronald J. “Coog” Hillen, age 75, lifelong resident of O’Fallon, Ill., was born September 26, 1938, in O’Fallon, He died Thursday, April 10, 2014, at Cedar Ridge Health Care Center, Lebanon.
Ron grew up in O’Fallon, and graduated from OTHS in 1956. He served in the US Army military police in the 1960’s. He worked as a press operator at Illinois Specialty in O’Fallon and later as a custodian in O’Fallon District 90, retiring in 2000. He coached his son’s youth sports and was an avid softball player in church and community leagues. He was a member of O’Fallon Boosters, and life member and 3rd degree with Knights of Columbus Council 4239. Ron was a lifelong member of St. Clare parish.
Surviving are his two children Angela (Donald) Karpel, of Mascoutah; and Darrin (Beverly Stewart) Hillen, of O’Fallon; two grandchildren Ryan and Brittany Karpel; and many nieces and nephews. Also surviving are his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Patricia Hillen, James (Karen) Kaiman of Chesterfield, Mo., Robert (Katherine) Kaiman of Old Monroe, Mo., and Jean (Joseph) Hogan of Old Monroe, Mo.

Funeral Service: Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at St. Clare Catholic Church, Shiloh, with Rev. James Deiters presiding. Burial with military honors will follow at Mount Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Shiloh.

Joseph Daniel McNamee entered into God’s loving embrace April 10, 2014.
He is survived by three children: Daniel McNamee (Victoria), Colleen Srote (Robert) of St Louis and Cathleen McNamee, of Mesa, AZ; Grandpa ‘Mac’ to Jordan Srote, Connor Strong, Madison Strong, Zoey Srote and Colin McNamee. Loving brother, uncle, cousin and friend to all.
Joseph ‘Joe’ McNamee began his lifelong mission of engineering building and innovating manufacturing equipment in 1970 which led to a 40+ year career. Joe’s expansive career in maintenance spanned the decades. He was most proud of re-engineering machines that improved productivity and eliminated waste. He was a talented baker most famous for his ‘chocolate chip cookies’, pies and cakes. Grandpa ‘Mac’ or Uncle Joe as he was known on the farm was famous for giving the best tractor rides in town. He was an avid hunter of all wildlife and enjoyed all things outdoors. He lived his life by a simple principle – be kind to others. He never turned anyone down who needed help and was always there for friends and family.
Visitation was held on Sunday, April 13, 2014, from 3 until 8 p.m., at the McCoy-Blossom Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Troy.
A funeral mass was held on Monday, April 14, 2014, 10 a.m., at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Troy. Father Tom Wissler officated.

Ethel “Mae” Kraft, 61, of Troy, passed away on April 10, 2014, at Lincoln County Medical Center in Troy.
She was born on May 20, 1952, in Wheatland, Wy. to Thomas Elwood and Delsi Imo ( Colyott) Laramore Sr.
After attending the local schools, Mae met and later married Steven Kraft. Mae enjoyed taking care of her home as long as her health permitted. Some of her hobbies were: quilting, reading, looking at her beautiful flower beds (that her husband worked on lovingly for her).
She is survived by her daughter; Amanda Jane and husband, Jamie Raby of Wellsville, Kan.; her husband, Steven Kraft, of Troy; her mother -in-law, Ruth and husband, Dave Lacerda, of Troy, her father-in-law Charles and wife, Judy Kraft Sr., of Troy and one grandchild on the way. She is further survived by her siblings: Stan and wife Elsie Lararmore, Anita and Bob Brand, Garnentt and Joe, Tommie and Wanda Laramore, Jenny Mesnarich and special friend Steve, Danny Laramore, Desi Brown and special friend Tim, Chris Alexander; two sisters-in-law Kathy Glascock and Mike Quattrocchi of Eolia, Tammy Jameson, of Panama City Beach, Fla., and one brother-in-law; Charles and wife, Carol Kraft, of Hawk Point, many other relatives and friends.
