Several accidents, no major injuries

According to traffic reports, on Oct. 25 two vehicles were involved in a collision on Hwy. OO at Hwy. C at 5:15 p.m.

Jerome Kunza, 60, driving a 1984 GMC Grain truck, was attempting to make a left turn onto Hwy. OO, cutting the turn too sharp. David Branon, 54, driving a 2005 Dodge Caravan failed to stop completely at the stop sign and struck Kunza.

Both drivers were wearing their safety devices. Branon was listed to have minor injuries and was taken to LCMC by private conveyance.

On Oct. 26, at approximately 10:15 a.m. another two vehicle accident occurred on Hwy. 61 at Dietrich Rd.

Ernest Stiner, 76, was driving his 2005 Ford Ranger when he attempted to cross Hwy. 61 and drove into the path of Stacie Rossiter, 31, driving a 2005 Honda CRV. The front of Rossiter’s Honda struck the right side of the Ranger.

Stiner was taken to St. Joseph Medical Center West by St. Charles County Ambulance. Her injuries were listed as minor. Both drivers had their safety devices on.

Another accident that occurred later on Oct. 26 was caused by engine failure. A 1969 OH-58 Helicpoter was reported to have extensive damage after a training flight ended with engine failure. The pilot, Michael Hargus, of Jefferson City, performed an emergency landing in an open field.

Jeff Noack, a passenger, was reported to have minor injuries, but refused medical treatment.

On Oct. 29 at 4:40 p.m. a three car accident occurred in Jackson County south of Cummins Rd.

Luanna Geyser, 50, of Lincoln County, was driving a 1993 Pontiac Bonneville south bound on route F. Geyser crossed the centerline and struck Casey Grow, 32 of Warrensburg, who was traveling northbound in her 2007 Pontiac G6. Geyser continued south, crossed the center line a second time and struck Stanley Kendrick, 51 of Holden, Mo., as he was driving his 1999 Kenworth with a trailer.

It was unknown if Geyser was wearing her safety device but Kendrick and Grow were. Geyser was taken to Centerpoint Hospital with moderate injuries. Kendrick was listed to have minor injuries and Grow was listed to have none.
