Funeral services for Shirley Anne “Lee” Emerson, 85, of Wentzville,  will be held Tuesday, April 29, 2014, at Tidwell Baptist Church Greenville, Texas.  Rev. Randy Rather, church pastor, Rev. Coyle Stephenson and Rev. Larry Combs, retired pastors of Tidwell Baptist Church, will officiate with inurnment in Tidwell Cemetery.

Mrs. Emerson, 85, passed away Friday evening, April 18, 2014, at St. Joseph Hospital West in Lake Saint Louis.

Born April 26, 1928 in Detroit, Mich., she was the daughter of David M. and Laurene M. Asplund Nelson.  She received her Bachelor’s of Science in English and Literature from Ohio Western University in Oxford, Ohio.  She was very proud of her days working as a stewardess for American Airlines.  She was united in marriage in 1955 to John Pierce Morgan.  Their home was blessed with one daughter, Lani and one son, John, Jr.  After John Sr.’s death in 1977, she was united in marriage again to Vesta Clovis Emerson on Jan. 8, 1983.

She was a housewife.  Mrs. Emerson was a member of Tidwell Baptist Church.

Survivors include her daughter, Lani Briggs and her husband, Jerry, of Foristell; step-son, Larry Emerson and his wife, Vivian, of Athol, Idaho; one step-daughter, Carol Patterson and her husband, Bill, of Mineola, Texas; two step-sons: John P. Morgan, Jr. of Mansfield, Texas and Larry Emerson and his wife, Vivian, of Athol, Idaho and three grandsons: Dr. James Briggs, of Clayton, John Briggs and his wife, Emily, of O’Fallon, and Larry Briggs and his wife, Susan, of House Springs.  She also leaves eight great-grandchildren and three great, great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
