Posted on Monday, July 22, 2013 at 10:02 am

Weather permitting, the week of July 25, MoDOT and its contractor will begin shoulder improvements and resurfacing on MO 47 from Hawk Point to Warrenton.

The work consists of paving the shoulders and resurfacing the travel lanes from Route A in Hawk Point to just north of Interstate 70 in Warrenton. Crews will begin working at Hawk Point with the majority of the work to be conducted at night Monday through Friday from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. to minimize congestion and delays during the day. Traffic will be reduced to one lane through the work zone; pilot cars will be in use to help guide traffic through the active work zone.

Crews and equipment will be working close to traffic in the work zone, please use extra caution while traveling through these areas. Motorists may encounter rough and uneven pavement during construction with equipment frequently entering and exiting the work zone. Delays should be expected, motorists are urged to use alternate routes if possible. All lanes will be open to traffic at the beginning of each workday. This work is expected to be completed by the beginning of October.

All roadwork is posted on the traveler information map. Those traveling and commuting public are encouraged to check the online map at daily for new work zones. MoDOT also offers e-update messages sent directly to your email when roadwork is scheduled.
