The Silex boys basketball team finished the Bowling Green Tournament with two losses on Jan. 23 and 25.
The Owls lost to the Bowling Green Bob Cats 45-36 on the twenty-fifth. From the outset, Bowling Green had the up hand during the game, holding six point lead over the Owls in the third quarter. However, the Bobcats surged ahead in the fourth quarter with 16 points earned, wrapping up the game.
“We put them at the free throw line to many times was the difference in the game,” said Silex Head Coach Ken Jett.
In the previous game the Owls lost 60-20 against Van Far. Silex held its own in the being, with the Indians holding only a two point lead over the Owls. Van far surged ahead in the second quarter with 16 points earned and after Silex earned no points in the fourth quarter, in the Indians wrapped up the game.
“Shot the ball poorly all night their pressure broke us down in the second half,” continued Jett.
