Katie Brown is one of the sweetest people you’ll ever meet. Humble, dedicated, and extremely selfless, the TBHS graduate is ready to take on the world.

Now a junior at Greenville University in Illinois majoring in Christian ministry, Brown runs a blog called “Keeping it Kind,” where she shares her unique perspective on life when she isn’t studying or spending her time as a short-term missionary in the inner-city.

“I’ve always liked to write, and I had several other people tell me I was a good writer, so my friend helped me start a website for my blog, where I could practice my writing and hopefully inspire people,” Brown commented to the Journal.

He blog posts cover everything from divorce to motivation, and she hopes that her words will help inspire others to live their best life.

“I hope that people come away from reading my blog and feel inspired, loved, and hopeful. I want to share my faith and let others know that they are special and have their own unique talents to share. I also want to write about some of my personal struggles, so other people feel less alone if they are going through something similar.”

When Brown graduates from college, she hopes to take her passion for ministry to the city of   St.Louis, and aims to start a ministry for young inner-city kids. This summer, she will be spending her time in Chicago, working as a missionary for elementary school children. To catch up with Katie, be sure to check out her blog at
