Tech Center shares vision with R-III Board

On Tuesday, July 16 members of the Pike-Lincoln Technical Center (PLTC) administrative team were invited to share with the Troy Board of Education their vision and look at PLTC programs. Consultant Don Bristow shared the PLTC vision 2025 that was establish by the consortium superintendents. Director Martin Hanley shared the floor plans of the facility to be rebuilt at the original location. They are expecting to have a ground-breaking ceremony in late September or early October. Mr. Hanley also discussed the growing partnership between PLTC and St. Charles Community College that will add to their welding program. This program has proven successful with a student placing in the top 50 percent of the nation at SkillsUSA national competition. This partnership will result in college credit for the students.

Hanley shared new programs happening at PLTC including 3D animation and modeling that will be offered for the first time this school year. Future programs include robotics and automation among others. Hanley and others shared their commitment to the PLTC Building Trades program that is co-managed by the Troy School District.

Assistant Director Andy Jolly shared is vision of greater partnerships with Troy and other sending school districts in developing and implementing a broad spectrum of vocational and community adult education programs.
