Elsberry gets solid pitching, timely hitting in four recent wins

Jacob Stolle didn’t allow a single run as Elsberry Senior Legion Baseball Post 226 defeated Wentzville Senior Legion Post 323 10-0 on June 25
Stolle allowed just one hit and induced a fly out from Riley to end the game. An early lead helped propel Elsberry to victory. Elsberry scored on a single by Blake Kendall in the first inning. Elsberry scored six runs in the fifth inning which was thanks to a double, a single by Joe Martin, a double by Cameron Turnbull and a walk by Zach Richardson. A double by Hall in the first inning was the only positive for Wentzville.
Stolle earned the win for Elsberry. He went five innings, allowing no runs, one hit and struck out five. Martin, Hunter Kline, Cole Dickherber, Robert Roggeman, Kendall, Turnbull, Chase Bauer, Richardson and Jon Almus each managed one hit to lead Elsberry. Elsberry didn’t commit a single error in the field. Dickherber had the most chances in the field with five. Hall went 1-for-2 at the plate to lead Wentzville in hits.

Crenshaw throws
Brenon Crenshaw didn’t allow a single hit as Elsberry Senior Legion Baseball Post 226 defeated St. Peters Senior Legion Post 313 10-0 on Sunday morning.
To get the final out Crenshaw struck out Jacobs.
Elsberry grabbed an early lead scoring on a fielder’s choice by Dickherber and a walk in the first inning. Elsberry then scored four runs in the fifth inning on a error, a single by Roggeman, and a single by Dickherber. Crenshaw earned the win for Elsberry as he tossed five innings, surrendering no runs, no hits, striking out seven and walking none. Dickherber led Elsberry with three runs batted in. He was 1-for 3 on the day. Elsberry stole 12 bases during the game as three players stole more than one. Jacob Stolle led the way with four.
Almus hurls
shutout to
defeat Hannibal
Jon Almus didn’t allow a single run as Elsberry defeated Hannibal Senior Legion Post 55 by the score of 8-0.
Almus allowed just two hits and induced a groundout from Koy Smith to end the game.
Elsberry didn’t take the lead until later in the game as Joe Martin drove in two when he doubled in the fourth inning. One bright spot for Hannibal was a single by Smith in the third inning.
Almus earned the win for Elsberry throwing five innings, giving up zero runs, two hits, and struck out six. Elsberry had six hits in the game. Martin, Crenshaw and Dickherber each collected multiple hits for Elsberry. Dickherber and Martin each drove in two runs to lead Elsberry.

Three pitchers team up as Elsberry shuts out Chesterfield

Crenshaw induced a double-play from Hallemann to finish off the game. The pitching was strong on both sides. Hurley for Elsberry struck out five, while Chesterfield’s Klump sat down one. Elsberry captured the lead in the first inning as Stolle singled on a 1-2 count in the first inning, scoring one run. A single by Hallemann in the third inning was a positive for Chesterfield.
Hunter Kline earned the win for Elsberry throwing five innings, giving up zero runs, four hits and struck out four. Crenshaw threw one inning, as two relievers helped Elsberry finish off the victory. Joe Martin, Stolle, Cole Dickherber, Chase Bauer, Jon Almus and Cameron Turnbull all had one hit to lead Elsberry.
