Things to know when servicing a funeral home

My name is Lisa Blossom-Payne. I am a funeral director with McCoy Blossom Funeral Homes and Crematory in Troy. We are Lincoln County’s only 100 percent locally family owned and operated full service funeral home and crematory. This week, I would like to briefly explain the process required if you should ever need the service of a funeral home for a loved one.
If the death occurs at a nursing home, or hospital, you simply need to tell the staff which funeral home you have chosen. If someone passes unexpectedly at home or any other place, you should call 911 and follow their instructions.
It is helpful for you to discuss your preferences with your family. Tell them whether you prefer a traditional service with the body present, cremation, or a combination of the two.
