The Troy Elks club provided 51 needy families in Troy with 18 gallon tubs full of food for their Christmas day celebrations. Previous years the Elks club bought enough for the dinner meal, but this year they are providing a full days worth of food. In each tub there is a ham, stuffing, potatoes, gravy, green beans, corn, mac and cheese, pancake mix, syrup, Cheerios, oatmeal, granola bars, Cutie oranges, snack mix, cookies, milk, orange juice, butter and brown sugar. Pictured above, the Elks who helped fill the tubs gathered for a picture. At right, you can see all the hard work that went into providing for the families in the area. Members donated $1,955 towards this cause which helped to be able to give the families a day’s worth of food. Also helping make this possible was the Beacon Grant that they received for $2,000.
