Another large water retention structure has been completed recently in the Lost Creek Watershed, said Moebius Gentry, chairman of the Lincoln County Soil Conservation District.
The structure is located on the Russell Taylor farm. The sub water district drainage into this structure is 1056 acres.
The proposal to issue bonds to finance a new sewage plant and line in Troy passed by 23 votes.
Richard Turnbull scored 33 points with Jerry Gifford finishing with 27 in a Winfield win over Elsberry.

Mrs. George Bergesch and Tilden Ransdell were presented the Leaders Honor Roll award by the Extension Service.
Troy Lodge No. 34 A.F. & A.M. laid the cornerstone and dedicated their new temple at 611 Main St. in Troy. Eugene Thurmon is the worshipful master of the lodge.
Following the unusual warm weather which spawned a large tornado in St. Louis County and smaller ones in Lincoln, a ice storm that caused extensive damage.
David Berry and Donna Creech were selected as the Homecoming King and Queen at Buchanan High School.

Funeral services were held for John Francis Woolfolk, 86, of Troy.
Snow and winter weather forced postponement of the dedication of the new Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department/911 Dispatching Center. It has been re-scheduled for Feb. 2.
Six of the 15 common-law defendants were sentenced by Judge Fred Rush. The remaining will be on Feb. 14.
