Students from Troy Middle School’s Technology Student Association (TSA) Vex Robotics Teams, led by their instructor Brandon Franck, traveled to Kansas City, Mo. this past weekend to compete in a Vex Robotics competition. The two teams are made up of sixth, seventh and eighth grade students and each team has a robot that will compete against robots built by teams from other schools. The competition will pit two teams against each other in a race to move balls into scoring zones and goals for points.
Students from Troy Middle School will have to keep their wits about them as they are primarily competing against high school aged students from around the state. The teams may look their age but act much more mature as they have had to learn how to design, build, and program their robot all while working cohesively as a team.
This competition marks the start of the competition season which will take the students to both Rolla and Potosi later in the year.
