Lincoln County will be turning 200 years old in 2018, and many wonderful community events are being planned to celebrate. A Bicentennial planning committee made up of Lincoln County employees, elected officials, and community members has been formed and is hard at work preparing events and activities for the whole family to enjoy throughout the year.
The first of these events will take place on March 20 with a kickoff ceremony at the Lincoln County Courthouse in which officials will read the Bicentennial Proclomation, raise the flag, and unveil the Lincoln County Bicentennial Logo which has been professionally designed by Mooney Marketing. The short ceremony will begin at noon, and all members of the public are invited to attend.
A book detailing the county’s founding and growth to the present day has already been published in honor of the Bicentennial and features family spotlights, interesting historical records, and delightful photographs from decades past. The book is now on sale at several local merchants.
