Warriors end regular season strong

The Winfield Warriors finished their regular season off strong at home pulling off a close 19-14 win over Van-Far.

Van-Far’s quarterback, Lucas Robinson, completed 15 of 27 passes for one touchdown and three interceptions and had 13 carries for 71 yards and one touchdown. Other notables for Van-Far were Jamie Householder who had two catches for 18 yards, Logan Boyd who had nine carries for 20 yards and one reception for five yards, Conner Albrecht with two catches for 29 yards, Trey Hull with one carry for two yards and two catches for 94 yards and one touchdown and Nick Barnes with one catch for four yards.

The Winfield Warrior’s Damian Cagle completed 10 of 22 passes for 105 yards and had 20 carries for 132 yards, one touchdown and a fumble. Other notable players for the Warrior’s were Tim Novak with 26 carries for 140 yards, Chandler Hollingsworth with two catches for 33 yards, David Bauer with five catches for 34 yards and a 55 yard interception return for a touchdown on defense, Ben Boyer with two catches for 31 yards, Andrew Eggering with one catch for seven yards and Kirk Howard with one carry for a loss of two yards.

The Winfield Warriors ended their regular season with a record of 3-6 and played #5 Duchesne on Friday night in District action.
