Warriors reach .500 level with wins

In action last week, the Winfield Warriors reached the .500 mark (11-11) as they begin district this week.
On May 9, Collin Sutton started and Carter Bauer pitched in relief, combining for an 11-0 win over Warrenton in five innings. Sutton allowed four hits in four and 2/3 innings, struck out six and walked three. Offensivley, Bauer and Joey Marko had two RBIs each. Spencer Keiser had four hits to lead the attack.
On May 8, the Warriors posted an 11-7 win over Wright City. Lane Weber was the winning pitcher. Sutton had three RBIs and hit a home run. John Hogan had three RBIs. Winfield scored all their runs in the third inning.
On April 6, Winfield lost 8-4 to St. Charles West. Marko was charged with the loss. He gave up eight hits in just over four innings of work and six runs (four earned). Turner McGlasson had four RBIs to lead Winfield.
On May 5, Winfield lost 13-6 to Montgomery R-II. Sutton had two RBIs with Josh Cook, John Hogan, Collin Hubbard, and McGlasson driving in one run each.
Winfield will play in the St. Dominic district this week.
