Come join the churches of Troy on Good Friday, April 18, for the Way of the Cross observance. This annual event is sponsored by all churches of the Greater Troy Ministerial Alliance and is open to everyone. This service consists of walking a mile and a quarter while stopping along the way at the various stations in the downtown area. Through this experience, we unite with Jesus in his suffering that led to his death on the cross. The event combines prayer, meditation and silence, scripture and music to help each person connect with God in a deeper way.
There are 14 stations on the way, which are chosen to represent different parts of Christ’s passion journey. Each stop will be at a different downtown location. The Troy Police Department provides safety for the procession.
The Way of the Cross will assemble at the parking lot of Troy Furniture on South Main St. at 5:15 p.m. and then walk at 5:30 p.m. after prayer. Come and participate in a powerful and meaningful experience of the Lord’s journey to the cross at Calvary. If you have any questions, please call Sr. Mary Ann Fisher at 636-528-8219.
