A Winfield man is facing multiple charges for allegedly raping and assaulting a female victim.
Ross Allen Kidd, 36, of the 400 block of Peregrine Court, was charged Feb. 3 with two felonies for second-degree domestic assault and first-degree rape/attempted rape. He is being held on a $100,000 cash-only bond.
Winfield police began investigating the allegations Feb. 2 when Kidd was allegedly making threats to harm himself, along with others. The officer learned that Kidd and a female had been arguing or some time over a two-day period.
The alleged rape occurred in the early-morning hours of Jan. 22, according to the probable cause statement, when Kidd forced himself on the female victim. He also choked her, police said.
