The Winfield Police Department would like to announce the results of the Driving While Intoxicated Checkpoint that was conducted on Friday, May 23, 2014.
A total of 386 vehicles passed through the checkpoint. There were zero arrests made for driving while intoxicated. There were three summons issued. The summons issued were for driving while suspended/revoked/denied, no proof of insurance, and expired plates.
“The Winfield Police Department would like to thank the community and visitors for their patience and cooperation during the checkpoint. We extend our thanks to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department, Old Monroe Police Department, MO-DOT, and the Winfield-Foley Fire Department for the assistance during this operation. We appreciate the support of our community as we incorporate these programs to promote safety on our roadways,” said Sgt. Marc McCollister.
