Second Candidate Declines Troy City Administrator Offer
TROY – It’s back to the drawing board for a third time in terms of Troy’s search for a city administrator.
For the second time in less than six months, a candidate has rejected an offer to accept the position that has been vacant for several years.
After their last meeting in February, Troy offered the city administrator position to a second candidate but found out this week he declined the offer.
After several months of reviewing applications, interviews and changing a city ordinance regarding residency requirements for the position, the board first offered the job Sept. 16 to Robert Connell.
After several months of negotiations, Connell though declined the position in November.
Troy Mayor Ron Sconce said the board will discuss at a special meeting Thursday night whether to reconsider some of the other candidates who recently applied for the position or to restart the search.
