 Irwin “Jack”, 80, passed away Sunday, March 23, 2025 at his home. Born July 8, 1944 in St. Louis, MO, he was the son of Irwin and Della Lee Payer. Irwin was united in marriage on May 9, 1964 in St. Louis to Joyce Elaine Hicks. This union was blessed with three sons: Jeff, Matt and Doug. Irwin worked as a trainman and switchman for Terminal Rail Road, retiring in 1994 after 30 years of service. He was a member of United Transportation Union Local #469 in St. Louis, where he had served as secretary and treasurer. Irwin enjoyed hunting, rock hunting and bird watching.
 Irwin was preceded in death by his parents, Irwin and Della Payer.
 Survivors include his beloved wife of nearly 61 years, Joyce Payer of Winfield; their sons: Jeff Payer and his wife, Chris, of Troy, MO, Matt Payer and his significant other, Kathy White, of St. Charles, MO, and Doug Payer and his significant other, Chastity Huggins, of Moscow Mills, MO; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Irwin also leaves one sister, Carol Brown of Warrenton, MO; other relatives and friends.
