Randy grew up in Wentzville, and went to St. Patrick Catholic Elementary School and graduated from Wentzville High School in 1970 and was a longtime parishioner at St. Patrick Catholic Church.
He drew #2 for the draft lottery and was drafted into the Army in January 1971. He was stationed in Ft. Leonard Wood, Ft. Knox and Ft. Gordon for radio/teletype training before going to Vietnam in August 1971. He was a proud Veteran and very active in the Wentzville American Legion Post 323 for over 45 years and was a member of the Wentzville VFW.
He was a retired carpenter from the Carpenters Union and had even built his own home. He could do just about everything and fix anything. He was a perfectionist in everything that he did. He had a lot of patience and did everything his way.
He loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing were his passions. He loved going to his farm to hunt and always had work projects at the farm.
He loved his family and was very proud of his son, Ryan and daughter, Dana! He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandkids, teaching them to play cards, casting fishing poles, telling them stories, taking them to the farm and riding the ranger.
He will be dearly missed. We are thankful for our cherished memories and appreciate all the family, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends to share these memories. Thankful we had him for as long as we did. We know he will be watching over us all.
