Troy Elks Lodge #2805 Gives Awards, Inducts Officers

The Troy Elks Lodge #2805 held its regular meeting on April 2.

This meeting was marked by the installation of lodge officers for the 2025-2026 Elk Year and the special presentation of awards.

Installation of Officers

During the meeting, the following individuals were installed as officers for the 2025-2026 Elk Year:

  • Esteemed Loyal Knight: John Cooper

  • Esquire: Ken Hooge
  • Tiller: Vicki Stonebarger
  • Inner Guard: Delia McGaskey

Award Presentations

Two notable awards were presented at the meeting:

Elk of the Year

The Elk of the Year award was presented to Ron Hammett, in recognition of his countless volunteering efforts for the lodge and his significant community involvement in youth activities and lodge events. His dedication and commitment are greatly appreciated.

Elk’s Officer of the Year of the Troy Lodge – Was presented to Simone Hamilton, in her dedication to keeping our Lodge financial records and financially sound with her recommendations for budgets and cost savings.

Citizen of the Year Award

Jessica Zumwalt was honored with the Citizen of the Year Award.

Jessica, our local hometown ray of sunshine and Lincoln County Collector, has dedicated countless hours volunteering in her community.

Whether she is coordinating the annual Christmas Day meal, promoting Thanksgiving meals, or supporting local charity events through sponsorships and volunteering, her efforts have made a significant impact.

Her smile is contagious, helping to make our community a better place. Despite her busy schedule, she finds time to enjoy her family and support her grandchildren at their events.

Jessica is truly deserving of this award and serves as a great example of spreading kindness.

Special Service Commendation Awards were presented to: Sharida A. Mitchell and Steve Hamilton for their contributions to the Lodge.

This meeting was a celebratory occasion, recognizing the outstanding contributions of dedicated individuals and welcoming new leadership for the upcoming year.
