Judge Denies Bond Reduction for Crouch

TROY – Despite an attorney’s pleas regarding a dying mother and a father stricken with cancer, a Lincoln County judge denied a bond reduction request for an accused child pornographer.
Jeremy Crouch, 42, remains in custody at the Lincoln County jail on 13 felony charges of possession of child pornography.

Sheriff’s deputies arrested Crouch Thursday, April 24 after being alerted by Verizon that he had downloaded images of child pornography onto his cell phone. A subsequent search of his home between Troy and Hawk Point revealed several DVDs and a computer hard drive with more images and videos.

According to court records, one video was made with a hidden camera Crouch placed in a bathroom of three boys he babysat.

Following his arrest, Crouch applied for and received a public defender, who argued Tuesday afternoon for the bond reduction before Lincoln County Associate Court Judge Michael Jacobs.

Grant Wobig said Crouch is the primary caregiver for his parents, including his mother who he claimed is on Hospice Care for ALS and has about a month to live.

A representative from the Lincoln County Prosecuting Attorney’s office voiced opposition to the bond reduction, citing public safety as a concern.

Judge Jacobs agreed with the prosecution and declined to reduce the $750,000 cash-only bond.
