Silex, Elsberry Hosting First 2025 Graduations Sunday

LINCOLN COUNTY – It’s graduation season in Lincoln County with all five local schools hosting ceremonies next week.

Elsberry and Silex high school share the honor of leading off the graduation lineup with both hosting ceremonies Sunday, May 18 precisely at 2 p.m.

Both schools are hosting the event in their respective high school gymnasiums.

Troy Buchanan High School follows with its ceremony Thursday at 7 p.m. in The Family Arena in St. Charles.

Arena doors open at 6 p.m. and seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Located at 2002 Arena Parkway, the venue also includes ample parking. The event will also be livestreamed on The Family Arena’s YouTube channel.

Attendees are reminded they will be required to adhere to the arena’s clear bag policy for admittance.

The following evening, New Horizons will host its traditional split graduation services at the Hungate Performing Arts Center.

The AM session students will walk the stage during a ceremony starting at 6 p.m. while the PM students receive diplomas starting at 7:15 p.m.

School officials are exploring the possibility of livestreaming those graduation events as well, but details are not yet available.

Winfield will host the final graduation ceremony of the year Sunday, May 25 at 2 p.m., outside at the high school sports complex.

Gates open at noon and each graduating senior receives four tickets for seating on the field. All other guests will be seated in the stadium bleachers, which are handicapped accessible.

In the event of inclement weather, school officials advise the ceremony may be postponed to later in the day to maintain the outdoor setting. However, if the event is moved indoors, school officials will announce that decision by the previous day.

The event will also be streamed on the school’s YouTube page.
