MELINDA CAPPEL

Melinda G. Cappel, 71, of Moscow Mills, MO, passed away on Wednesday, May 28, 2025. She was born on October 27, 1953, the beloved daughter of Enlow and Barbara (Green) Arnold. She attended the local schools and later graduated from Buchanan High School. She met her future husband, Larry Cappel and graduated with him. November 27, 1971, she married the love of her life and the rest is history. The happy couple were blessed with two children: Shane and Stephanie. Melinda was an exceptional wife and mother and nothing made her happier then caring for her family. In addition she worked for 32 years at the R-III school district as a teacher’s assistant. Melinda loved her job and was known for her compassion, dedication and patience while working with her students. She always put others before herself. In later years, she enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s events. Melinda was a very caring, kind person and truly made a difference in the lives of many people. She will be remembered lovingly by all those who knew her.
Melinda is survived by her beloved husband of 53 years, Larry Cappel, her children: Shane (Katie) Cappel, Stephanie Cappel-Harris, grandchildren: Lexi (Ryan) Bullock, Andrew Harris, and Emilee (Cole) Rhodes, Brady Cappel, sister, Ellen (Dennis) Spires, sister-in-law, Sue Cappel, brother-in-law, Terry (Shellie) Cappel, niece, nephews, many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her son-in-law, James Jim Harris.
Visitation was Tuesday, June 3, 2025 from 3:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at the McCoy-Blossom Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1304 Boone St., Troy, MO 63379, 636-528-8244.
A Funeral service was Wednesday, June 4, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at the McCoy-Blossom Funeral Homes & Crematory, Troy. Officiating will be Sandy Bergesch. Pallbearers will be: Andrew Harris-Brady Cappel-Cole Rhodes-Tim Cappel-Keith Cappel-Kurtis Cappel-Alan Spires, and Zac Howard. Honorary pallbearers will be: Gary and Sharon Braungardt-Jason Braungardt-Bryan Braungardt- and Keith Schuette. Interment followed in Troy City Cemetery, Troy.
