PHILLIP TILLER

Phillip B. Tiller, age 70, passed away on July 11, 2025. Born on July 6, 1955 in Troy, Missouri, he was the son of Herschel Tiller and Ruby (McGuire) Budd. Phillip grew up in Florissant and Elsberry, graduating from Elsberry High School in 1973. In 1977, he married Leslie Lauritzen of Old Monroe, having two children. For twenty years, Phillip oversaw the drafting program at Lewis and Clark Technical Center and took pride in guiding his students to success in competitions at both the state and national levels. His passions for education and design were not limited to his time at work, as he regularly volunteered for years as a tour guide at the Dana-Thomas House in Springfield, Illinois. Phillip was preceded in death by his parents, Herschel and Ruby, and is survived by his sister, Lesa Miller and her husband Stan, of Elsberry; his son, Chris Tiller, his wife Chrissy, and their children Arlene and Liam, of Troy; his daughter, Addie Tiller, her husband Drew, and their son Everett, of Wentzville; nieces and their families; friends, companions, and students.
No services will be held, but donations in his memory may be made to the Dana-Thomas House Foundation or the Alzheimer’s Association.
