GERALD MCCLELLAN

Gerald Louis (Jerry) McClellan, passed away peacefully on Sunday Aug. 10 at Elsberry Healthcare Center. He was born on May 10, 1936, in St. Louis, MO, the son of Hugh Brooks and Helen (Roth) McClellan. Jerry went to Silex school and then to work for “Kac” Hinds Service Station for many years. He met the love of his life Betty England, and they were married December 6, 1958. He then began working at McDonnell Douglas where he retired after 35 years, but didn’t stay retired long he also worked for the Lincoln County Sheriff’s department as a bailiff and prisoner transport officer. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Silex where he served as grand master and also a member of the Scottish Rite. He was active with the Lincoln County Democratic Party, serving as committeeman for several years, as well as the Lincoln County Fair, serving as Fair Chairman in 1994. He and Betty were blessed with 2 daughters, Tami (Dave) Stanek, and Marsha (Bob) Junge. 3 grandchildren Zachary (Helen) Junge, Jessica (Benton) Haines, of Silex, John (Lauren) Stanek, of Idaho Falls, ID. and 7 great grandchildren Emilie, Natalie and Zoey Junge, William and Jackson Haines and Kaeson and Charlotte Stanek. Also surviving are sister-in-law Judy (Mike) Housewright and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents, his wife Betty, his brother Charles McClellan, one sister in infancy Dorothy McClellan.
