Funeral Services for Gail Lynn Jefferson of Winfield, MO will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 22, 2025 at First Baptist Church Winfield. Pastor Fielding Poe will officiate with burial in Whispering Winds Cemetery near Winfield. Serving as pallbearers will be Chester Dunlap, Kyle Schulte, Pat Brennan, Cameron Turnbull, Tyler Wehde and T.J. Meder.
Gail, 76, passed away Friday evening, August 15, 2025 at Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital in St. Peters, MO. Born October 7, 1948 in Olney, MO, she was the daughter of John Thomas and Lillian Helen Hesselmeyer, Henry, Sr. Gail was a 1968 graduate of Troy High School. She was united in marriage on June 21, 1969 in Troy to Roger Lee Jefferson. This union was blessed with five children: Cresent, Chasity, Chad, Cristan and Chanell. Gail worked as a packer for Daddy Rays until 2018. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church Winfield after being saved in 1983.
Gail was preceded in death by her parents, John and Lillian Henry, Sr.; three sisters: Karen Rhoades, Doris Henry and Kathy Henry; two brothers: Pat Henry and Johnny Henry, Jr.; her son, Chad Jefferson, who died November 11, 1997; and her grandson, Chaise Dunlap, who died on September 13, 2020.
Survivors include her beloved husband of 56 years, Roger Jefferson of Winfield; four daughters: Cresent Dunlap and her husband, Chester, of Old Monroe, MO, Chasity Brennan and her husband, Pat, Jr. of Foley, MO, Cristan Jefferson of Troy and Chanell Schulte and her husband, Kyle, of Winfield; ten grandchildren: Chalise Wehde, Courren Meder, Cameron Turnbull, Chadae Lagana, Cyleigh Lagana, Chloe Turnbull, Camile Schulte, Cayle Lagana, Cara Schulte and Caleena Brennan; and four great-grandchildren: Cailyn Dunlap-Linders, Cooper Wehde, Colin Meder and Callahan Wehde. Gail also leaves one brother, Dennis Henry and his wife, Sharon, of Winfield; four sisters: Penny Byrne of St. Louis, MO, Veronica Krug of St. Charles, MO, Lilly McGee and her husband, Lonnie, of Old Monroe and Bonny Auchly of St. Paul, MO; one brother-in-law, Revo Rhoades, Sr. of Winfield; one sister-in-law, Patsy Henry of Elsberry; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 21, 2025 at First Baptist Church Winfield.
