TROY – A Lincoln County court issued an arrest warrant for a Troy man accused of performing a sex act in front of a woman and her dog while camping in Silex.
Nicholas Schell, 35, is charged with sexual misconduct in the first degree for an incident that allegedly occurred Aug. 11 at the Logan Conservation Area in Silex.
According to court records, a sheriff’s deputy responded to the campground and found a naked male sitting on the ground who “appeared to be under the influence of a narcotic, displaying signs of impairment.”
Schell told the deputy he was staying at the campground and had just returned from a local bar.
The deputy then contacted the victim who stated Schell, while naked, walked into her campsite and performed a sex act while walking to her car.
“The victim asked the suspect to leave her alone several times, at which point the suspect started to walk towards her daughter and dog,” the deputy states in the probable cause statement.
Schell was arrested on a 24-hour hold and released without being charged.
According to court records, the probable cause statement was filed Monday and Lincoln County Associate Court Judge Michael Jacobs issued the arrest warrant Tuesday.
The warrant charges Schell with a Class B misdemeanor that carries a sentence of up to six months in jail and a $1,000 fine.
Schell’s bond is set at $2,500.
