Lincoln County school officials say TikTok urinating challenge has come to Troy

TROY – A social media trend involving urinating on university and high school campuses has apparently come to Lincoln County.

Lincoln County R-III school officials sent out an email this afternoon advising parents the TikTok trend has come to Troy.

“This particular trend encourages students to urinate on school property. We are seeing property vandalism at our secondary schools, including on our fields, parking lots, and on restroom floors,” Superintendent Matt Frederickson wrote. “Incidents like these result in the need for additional resources for monitoring and cleaning. We are also forced to close high-traffic areas, including some restrooms, until they can be properly cleaned.”

Frederickson urged parents to discourage the behavior with their children.

“Please help us keep our campuses clean by speaking with your child about the seriousness of their actions and the possible resulting outcomes should they choose to participate,” he wrote. “Regardless of the perceived ‘entertainment value’ of these challenges, vandalism, including public urination, will be taken seriously and will not be tolerated in our school or on school property.”

He said potential consequences for urinating on campus property would be covered by the schools student code of conduct.

“Our schools will continue to reinforce positive behavior daily and discourage participation in these online antics,” he wrote. “As always, your partnership in ending these behaviors is critical and appreciated. Please feel free to reach out to me or any of our building administrators with questions or concerns.”
