George Henry Schlie, 89, of Chicago, Illinois, passed away peacefully on October 21, 2025, sur­rounded by his loving family. He was a devoted father to Bruce Schlie and the late daughter Geneen Schlie, and a proud grandfather to Monique, Drew, and the late Nat­alie. His family was the center of his heart and the greatest joy of his life.
 Born on May 25, 1936, to George and Irene Schlie, George lived a life defined by kindness, gen­erosity, and dedication. He served honorably in the United States Army and had a distinguished 50-year career at Boeing, followed by 10 years at Circuit City and other companies. His unwavering work ethic and selfless nature left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
 George was known for his warm smile, wisdom, love of music, and joy in traveling. He was always there for others, offering support, guidance, or sim­ply a comforting pres­ence. Those who knew him will remember a man who loved deeply, gave freely, and left a legacy of care and compassion.
 Those who knew him will remember a man who gave freely of him­self always ready to lend a hand, share his wisdom, or brighten a room with his humor and heart. His memory will live on through the love he gave and the countless lives he touched.
