Allyn Hoelting

A mass of Christian burial for Allyn Henry Hoelting, of Old Monroe, was held Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2024 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church near Old Monroe. Fr. Michael Lampe, church pastor, officiated with burial in Immaculate Conception Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were his grandsons.
Allyn, 93, passed away Saturday night, Nov. 16, 2024 at his home. Born April 18, 1931 in Old Monroe, he was the son of Edward Bernard and Leona Hemmersmeyer Hoelting. Allyn served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He married Dolores Ann Reller July 22, 1961 in Old Monroe. This union was blessed with six children: Bill, Margie, Paula, Carolyn, Jerry and Steve. Allyn was a lifelong famer. He was a member of American Legion Post #420 in Old Monroe and the Missouri Farm Bureau.
Allyn was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Leona Hoelting; one sister, Marita Gnade; one brother, Edward Hoelting; one grandson, Daniel Ilgenfritz; one son, Steven Hoelting and his wife, Julie; and his beloved wife of 52 years, Dolores Hoelting, who died Dec. 9, 2013.
Survivors include two sons: Bill Hoelting and his wife, Lisa, of Moscow Mills and Jerry Hoelting and his wife, Patty, of Old Monroe; three daughters: Margie Tipton and her husband, Dave, of Truxton, Paula Ilgenfritz and her husband, John, of Old Monroe and Carolyn Sommerlad and her husband, Russell, of Foley; 14 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren. Allyn also leaves one sister, Janice Knapp of Old Monroe; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation was from 9-11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2024 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield.
