New owners, new website for Lincoln County Journal

With Cherry Road Media assuming ownership from Lakeway Publishing Jan. 1 at The Lincoln County Journal, there will be a few changes, most noticeably though with the website.

Starting Dec. 30, The Journal will be featured on its own designated website, lincolncountyjournal.com.

Previously, the Journal had shared a site with The Elsberry Democrat and Troy Free Press, which will have their own dedicated sites as well at elsberrydemocrat. com and troyfreepress.com.

Much like the previous site, the new one will provide free access to content found each week in The Journal, along with copies of the E-Edition.

While there won’t be a paywall to the website, readers will have to create an account to continue to receive free access.

During the week of Jan. 6, current Journal account holders will receive an email with instructions to setup their new account for the website. If they do not receive an email or need assistance setting up an account, please contact subscriberhelp@ cherryroad. com or by calling 973-5414210.

Advertisers meanwhile should continue to pay their December invoice to Lakeway Publishing. However, starting with all advertising in the Jan. 3 edition, new invoices will be sent from Cherry Road Media at the end of the month.

Any questions regarding billing should be directed to the Troy office at 636-528-9550.

And while there will be some changes with the website and appearance of the paper, most everything else will remain the same, including the phone number, location (280 Magee Street, Troy), delivery date (Friday), and personnel.

“In the last couple years, The Journal has developed a reputation in Lincoln County for unabashed, unbiased news reporting, bringing Lincoln County important news and stories that aren’t reported anywhere else,” Journal Publisher Gregory Orear said. “That commitment to local news coverage isn’t changing at all with our new ownership group. Quite to the contrary in fact. We’re excited to enter this new era where we believe we’re going to be equipped to be the county’s most trusted and best news source for years to come.”
