Moscow Mills Man Arrested for Child Endangerment
MOSCOW MILLS – The Lincoln County prosecutor’s office filed felony charges against a man accused of leaving a toddler alone.
According to Moscow Mills police, Evan Richardson, 25, left the child, who hadn’t turned 2 years old, alone in an unlocked house with a computer tablet.
In the probable cause statement filed with the Lincoln County Associate Court, Officer Nathan James said the child’s mother alerted him via a phone call to Richardson leaving.
“(She) put me on a 3-way call with him. At one point in the conversation Evan stated ‘I’m pulling out right now. He (the Child) has his tablet,’” James wrote in the probable cause statement. “As the statement was made I observed Evans drive away from the residence without the child in the car.”
James said he then proceed to arrest Richardson before returning to the residence.
“I traveled back to the residence where with permission I discovered the front door to be unlocked and the child in the back bedroom unattended,” Janes reported.
According to the probable cause statement, Richardson was the child’s father and boyfriend of the woman making the call.
With the criminal complaint filed Friday, Richardson faces a Class D felony endangering the welfare of a child, first degree, first offense.
If convicted, Richardson could face a prison sentence of one-seven years and a fine up to $10,000.
