LINCOLN COUNTY – A Troy man died last week in the first fatal car accident of 2025 in Lincoln County.

Kyle Follis, 25, died at the scene of the accident on Highway 47 west of Davis Lane Saturday, Feb. 8 at 10:10 p.m.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Follis was driving a 2019 Hyundai Accent westbound on Highway 47 when his vehicle was struck by a 2007 Ford F150 driven by a 19-year-old Foley man.

The Ford pickup was traveling eastbound when it struck a deer in the road and crossed the center of the highway before striking the driver side of Follis’ Accent.

After impact, the Accent rotated clockwise and travelled off the left side of the highway before coming to rest down an embankment.

The pickup truck driver suffered serious injuries and was transported by ambulance to Mercy Hospital in St. Louis.

According to the patrol, both drivers were wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.
