JUANITA WOODY

01/12/1940 – 05/04/2025
Juanita (Gibbons) Woody, a devout servant of Christ and a beacon of love and patriotism, passed away peacefully on May 4, 2025, at the age of 85. Juanita was born January 12, 1940 in Greenville, MO to Charley and Lorene Gibbons. A former member of Maranatha Chapel in Wentzville, MO and current member of Hope Assembly in Winfield, MO, Juanita’s love for her Savior shone brightly for all to see. Juanita’s passion for Jesus and education was evident as she shared her teaching talents with a local Christian School and in teaching Sunday School for over 40 years. She later extended her teaching talents in the family decision to home school one of her sons. An avid lover of nature, Juanita found joy in watching and feeding the birds, although she was no friend to the squirrels. Her skillful hands were always busy, whether she was sewing beautiful dresses, crocheting, or crafting intricate quilts. Juanita also enjoyed cheering on her grandchildren and great-grandchild, as they participated in various extracurricular activities.
She is survived by her two sons, Brett L. (Mary) Woody and Eric E. (Jennifer) Woody; three grandchildren, Aaron, Simone, and Ethan Woody; one great-grandson, Carter Mims; and many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. She is preceded in death by her father, Charley Lee Gibbons, mother, Lorene (Leach) Gibbons, husband, Charles Woody, son, Roger Woody, brothers, Charles Gibbons and Gary Gibbons and two sisters, Norma Mitchell and Betty McGill.
Her memory will be cherished and kept alive in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.
The family is being served by Pitman Funeral Home in Wentzville, MO.
