SALLIE MOGERMAN

Sallie Day Mogerman, passed on May 8, 2025. Sallie was 89 years of age, and the mother of Cary (Dee) Mogerman, Dr. Jaime Dodd (Dr. Charles Faussete), Cathriel (Douglas) Stotler, and Jordan Mogerman (Desiree Cabell). She was the loving grandmother of Jacob (Dr. Shlomit Arazi), Samuel (Rachel Swanson), Benjamin (Tali Segev), Dr. Savannah Dodd (Dr. Chris Jenkins), Rachel Stotler (Tom Bernhard), and Madeline (Jordan) Wynne; great-grandmother to Sol, Goldie, Noa and Oliver. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Donald M. Mogerman, her mother Sybil Margaret Day, and her sisters Dortha Lee Durbin and Joyce Faith. Sallie was born in east Texas and raised there and in Kansas City, MO. She was married to Donald M. Mogerman in 1959. They raised four children and were married for 59 years until Donald’s death in 2019. Sallie graduated with honors from Lindenwood University with a degree in literature, having begun her college education in midlife. She also became a licensed private pilot and an accomplished portrait artist, maintaining a studio in the Foundry Art Center for nearly 20 years and was a member of the St. Louis Art Guild. In addition to her other painting, she was especially proud of having been commissioned to paint the portraits of each of the trial judges who served in Lincoln County, Missouri in the present day and historically; her portraits are on display in the Lincoln County Justice Center. She loved the St. Louis Symphony, bridge with her friends, poetry and literature, and was a devoted mother and grandmother to all of her children and their families. In lieu of flowers, donations to a favorite charity would be appreciated.
Visitation was at the Ortmann Stipanovich Funeral Home, 12444 Olive Blvd., Creve Coeur, on Sat. May 10, from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Interment Bellerive Gardens Cemetery.
