JOAN MARTIN

¶ Joan M. Martin, 92, of Moscow Mills, MO, passed away on Saturday, May 10, 2025. She was born on February 17, 1933, in Overland, MO, the child of Joseph and Mary (Mitchell) Cody. After attending the local schools, she married the love of her life, James L. Martin. The happy couple was wed on March 28, 1949 in Troy, MO. Joan was a loving mother to their five children: Rick, Peggy, Robert, Sandra, and Mike. In addition, she worked at Sears-Roebuck, and several other jobs throughout the years. In her spare time, Joan enjoyed reading mystery novels, embroidering, and making quilts for her grandchildren. She was a faithful member of the Moscow Mills United Methodist Church and treasured her time spent there. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother who will be sadly missed and long remembered by all those who knew her.
¶ Joan is survived by her five children: Donald Ricky (Sharon) Martin of Homosassa, FL. , Peggy Lanour (Kelly) Mitchell of Sebring, FL., Robert Steven (Kathy) Martin of Ozark, Sandra Marie Martin of Moscow Mills and Michael Lee (Kim) Martin of Troy, 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren: Daniel (Nancy) Martin and their children Zachary and Zophia, Bryan (Frances) Martin, Ericka (Patrick) Pierce and their children Cale, Violet, Penelope, Sharida (Kelly) Mitchell and their children Kellianne (Josh) Williams, and sons, Wyatt, and Maxwell, Jennifer (Brad) Kelch, Amanda Martin, Curtis (Bethany) Martin and daughters, Macy and Madelyn, Kevin Martin and son, Jaxton, Kasandra (Rich) Maibes and daughter, Francesca, Kari(Matt) Tow , sons Peyton and Greyson, Eric Martin, Kaylee (Brendan) Whittington, and their children Annabelle, Toby and Aiden, surviving sister, Joyce Weitkamp and sister-in-law, Ercell Anderson, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
¶ She was preceded in death by, her parents, her husband, Jim, her brother, Jack Cody and her niece, Mary Dena Ierardi.
¶ Visitation was Wednesday, May 14, 2025 from 4:00 p.m.- 8:00 p.m. at McCoy-Blossom Funeral Homes & Crematory 1304 Boone Street, Troy, MO 63379, 636-528-8244.
¶ Funeral service was at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 15, 2025 at the funeral home in Troy. Sandy Bergesch to officiate. Pallbearers will be: Rodney Nesslage-David Weitkamp-Tristen Weitkamp-Maxwell Mitchell-Peyton Bertels-Greyson Bertels Honorary Pallbearers: KW Mitchell-Howard Schieffer-Leroy Schieffer- Randy Schieffer.
