EDWARD HUBER JR.

 Edward “Eddie” Joseph Huber Jr., age 86, of Silex, Missouri, passed away peacefully at home on May 27, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
 Born on July 23, 1938, in St. Louis, Missouri, Eddie was the son of Edward Joseph Huber Sr. and Lorene (Emo) Huber. He was a proud lifelong Missourian whose life was defined by hard work, deep faith, and unwavering love for his family and community.
 With an eighth-grade education, Eddie went on to live a life full of purpose and dedication. He spent his career raising livestock, farming, custom baling, running a hay crew, operating a feed and grain elevator, driving trucks as well as running a trucking company, and proudly serving as Commissioner of Lincoln County, District 2 a role in which he served his neighbors and community with integrity and commitment. Eddie was a hard-working man often burning the candle at both ends. Eddie and his wife Barbara owned and operated their business, Silex Elev. & Trucking Inc. for 53 ½ years. Eddie and Barb were honored to serve as Silex Fall Festival Grand Marshalls in 2016.
 On October 6, 1962, Eddie married the love of his life, Barbara Helen (Shramek) Huber. Together, they built a legacy of love, faith, and family over 62 beautiful years. They were blessed with six children: Ed (Theresa) Huber of Silex, MO, Debbie (Randy) Eggering of Old Monroe, MO, Jim (Cynde) Huber of Centralia, MO, Cathy (Henry) Martin of Bowling Green, MO, Mike Huber of Silex, MO, and Mark (Anita) Huber of Bowling Green, MO.
 Eddie’s greatest joy was his family. He was a proud grandfather to 20 grandchildren: Chip (Samantha) Huber, Crystal (Jason) Howard, Willy (Emily) Huber, Jessica (Wally) Hubbard, Ashley Eggering, Andrew Eggering, Clare (Nathan) Wommack, Sarah (Mark) Browning, Trenton Huber (preceded him in death), Elizabeth Martin, Erica (Jason) Fischer, Emily Martin, Erin Martin, Brandon (Taylor) Divinny, Kaitlyn Huber, Ally Huber, Seth Huber, Brooke Huber, Dylan Huber, and Brady Huber.
 He was also a beloved great-grandfather to 26 great-grandchildren: Cael, Nephenee, Miles, Jay, Grace, Carson, Cole, Kylee, Abagail, Maci Sue, Brennan, Jaycee, Hank, Walter, George, Victor, Hattie, Aiden, Avery, Nora, Remi, Elliette, Everlee, James, Carter, and Ava.
 Eddie was honored to serve as a godfather to five: Jessica Hubbard, Chip Huber, Brenda Shramek, John Huber, and Virgil Mennemeyer.
 A man who never met a stranger, Eddie had a gift for conversation and a deep appreciation for connection. His passions included playing slowpitch softball, hunting, collecting antique tractors, serving his community in public office, and, most of all, spending time talking with everyone he met. Since the age of 18, Eddie was a proud member of the Millwood Knights of Columbus.
Eddie is survived by his loving wife, Barbara; their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; his siblings Lenny (Judy) Huber, Barb (Dave) Mennemeyer, and Frances (Robert) Shramek; and many extended family and friends.
 He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother William Huber, his grandson Trenton Huber, and his brothers-in-law Robert (Frances) Shramek, Albert J. Shramek, and Dave (Barb) Mennemeyer.
 Pallbearers will be Ed Huber, Jim Huber, Mike Huber, Mark Huber, Randy Eggering, and Henry Martin. Honorary pallbearers include Chip Huber, Willy Huber, Seth Huber, Dylan Huber, Brady Huber, Andrew Eggering, Bob Brown, Ronnie Twellman, and Pat Kientzy.
 A wake was held on Sunday, June 1, from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at High Point Ridge West, 1217 Hwy E, Silex, MO 63377, former location of Eddie and Barb’s business, Silex Elev. & Trucking, Inc. Visitation began at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, June 2, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Millwood, MO. A luncheon followed at the Millwood KC Hall.
 The family was served by Bibb-Veach Funeral Homes & Crematory in Silex.
 Eddie’s life was a testament to the values of faith, family, community, and friendship. His memory will continue to live on in the stories, laughter, and love shared by all who knew him.
 In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to St. Alphonsus Cemetery, St. Alphonsus School, and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the donor’s choice in Eddie’s memory.
