Funeral Services for James Scott “Jim” Johnson of Winfield, MO were at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 17, 2025 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield. Brother David Lloyd of Illinois, and Jack Altman, officiated. Graveside Services will be in Sumach Cemetery near Holcomb in Dunklin County, Missouri at 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 18, 2025. Serving as pallbearers will be grandchildren.
Jim, 63, passed away Friday morning, July 11, 2025 at North Kansas City Hospital in North Kansas City, MO. Born April 4, 1962 in Troy, MO, he was the son of Myron Owen and Polly Joyce Altman Johnson. Jim was a 1980 graduate of Parma High School in Parma, MO. He was united in marriage on September 22, 1984 in Troy to Mary Catherine Schiermeier. This union was blessed with two children, James Anthony “Tony” and Heather Marie. He was employed as an over-the-road trucker by Hoffman Transportation. Jim enjoyed trail riding in the side by side, riding his motorcycle, camping, hanging with friends and family, sharing his cookies with his doggies, talking to his chickens and sharing his wisdom.
Jim was preceded in death by his father, Myron Johnson; one brother, Myron Dennis Johnson; and one sister, Rebecca Joyce Gluck.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 40 years, Mary Johnson of Winfield; one son, James Anthony Tony Johnson and his wife, Krista, of Winfield; one daughter, Heather Marie Johnson and her husband, Jeremy Fisher, of Moscow Mills, MO; nine grandchildren: Eden Johnson, Marlan Versey, Jacobi Versey, Aaron Versey, Trey Fisher, Breyden Fisher, Ralph Johnson and Betty Johnson; and two fur babies, Archie and Jughead. Jim also leaves his mother, Polly Johnson of Winfield; two sisters: Terry Alicia Doolan and her husband, Paul of New Orleans, LA, and Judy Denise Johnson of Mundelein, IL; several cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Visitation was held from 3:00 p.m. until time of the Service at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 17, 2025 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield.
