MOSCOW MILLS – The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department arrested a Moscow Mills woman Wednesday afternoon on a felony warrant charging her with defrauding a state food assistance program.

Deputies arrested Kristina Kilgore, 55, and processed her into the Lincoln County Jail at 4:37 p.m.

The Lincoln County Prosecuting Attorney’s office secured a warrant for her arrest July 30 on two felony charges of stealing and one for forgery.

The Lincoln County Journal reported on the active warrant Tuesday while St. Louis media inaccurately reported Kilgore had been arrested.

After her actual arrest Wednesday, Kilgore remains in jail on a $25,000 bond. In setting the bond as part of the arrest, Lincoln County Associate Court Judge Michael Jacobs ruled Kilgore could post 10 percent of the bond, or $2,500, to secure her release.

According to court records, Kilgore’s accused of misrepresenting her household income for a period of three years when applying for SNAP and state medical benefits.

Investigators claim she failed to report her husband’s income, which qualified for her more than $30,000 in benefits she shouldn’t have received.
