TBHS Launches Army JROTC Program in Fall

TROY - The Lincoln County R-III School District will be launching an Army Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (JROTC) program at Troy Buchanan High School (TBHS) this fall. This marks an exciting new opportunity for TBHS students, who will now have access to a nationally recognized leadership development program that emphasizes citizenship, service, and personal responsibility.

'Excited': County Collector, Assessor move into former bank

TROY - Increased access and more space are the primary reasons for a major move for the Lincoln County Assessor and Collector’s offices to the former Bank of America building.“Staffs in each office are excited about the larger space and the accessibility that the public will have,” said Kevin Bishop, the county’s assessor.The offices officially opened for business in their new location on April 21. Last year, the county finalized the purchase, located on Highway 47 in Troy for $2.1 Million.

Sheriff Disputes Demise of SRO Program

TROY - Rumors of the demise of the School Resource Officer program are greatly exaggerated, according to the Lincoln County Sheriff. In an exclusive interview with The Lincoln County Journal, Sheriff Rick Harrell said while he is pursuing "alternative funding" options for the program, he is not considering eliminating it, contrary to a report from a Troy alderman.
