Troy Board Tables Funding Request for Outer Road
TROY – While the meeting lacked any yelling, name-calling or exclamations of “shut-up,” the presence of a new member of the Troy Board of Aldermen didn’t prevent a couple split votes and disagreements on the proposed construction of an outer road along Highway 61. In his first meeting since being appointed by the mayor and approved by the board, Quentin Laws twice voted to table proposals related to the outer road project first mentioned by Mayor Ron Sconce in February.

Intense storms ravage state, Lincoln County considered 'fortunate'
LINCOLN COUNTY - By all accounts, Lincoln County residents and first responders weathered a recent severe weather event much better than many other Missouri communities. On March 14, intense winds and storms swept across the state causing pouring rain and hail, and destruction in its aftermath.

Bond Reduced for Mother of Murdered Baby
LINCOLN COUNTY – A St. Charles County judge lowered the bond of one of six people charged with murder in connection with the drug exposure death of a 49-day-old baby earlier this week.

Wheat planted area projected higher, yield and prices lower
The annual Agricultural Outlook Forum was recently held in Virginia and made some projections for this year’s wheat. They raised the wheat planted area a little bit from last year to 47 million acres, the yield was more conservative down to 50 bushels an acre compared to 51.2 last year.
