Fewer private properties offering public access to outdoor recreation
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. -- With fall hunting seasons underway, the Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) reminds hunters to check the status of their favorite hunting spots before venturing into the outdoors -- particularly if they use private properties enrolled in the Department’s Missouri Outdoor Recreational Access Program (MRAP).

MDC and CFM ask deer hunters to Share the Harvest
JEFFERSON CITY – The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) and the Conservation Federation of Missouri (CFM) encourage deer hunters to share their harvests by donating venison to Missouri’s Share the Harvest (STH) program. The donated deer meat goes to local food banks and food pantries to help feed hungry Missourians all around the state.

MDC investigates fish kill at Ray Behrens, Spalding, and Dam portions of Mark Twain Lake
HANNIBAL – The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) received several reports late last week of a walleye fish kill event at Ray Behrens, Spalding, and Dam portions of Mark Twain Lake. An investigation into the reports revealed that this was likely a natural fish kill event, and that there is no toxic pollution involved.

MDC has new regulations for ginseng dealers and harvesters
JEFFERSON CITY - The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) reminds ginseng harvesters and dealers of new regulations that become effective July 1. MDC sent letters to registered ginseng dealers with the information late last year after regulations were approved.
